Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ROOIEE (“ROOIEE”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit https://rooiee.com, use our collar configurator, or contact us. It is written to meet the transparency requirements of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA), Canada’s PIPEDA, and similar privacy laws in Australia, New Zealand, and other markets we serve.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the site or send us personal information. You can reach us at any time at everything.rooiee@gmail.com.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller for personal information collected through this website is ROOIEE. We do not currently appoint a separate EU or UK representative. Privacy requests should be sent to everything.rooiee@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA).
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact details you choose to send us, such as your name, email address, and message, including when you use “Contact us” or email us directly.
- Order and design details, such as collar size, width, outer and inner patterns, hardware choices, embroidery text, and other customization options included in your enquiry.
- Device and usage data automatically collected by our hosting provider (Vercel) and the browser, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Information stored on your device, such as saved collar favorites in local storage. This stays on your device unless you include it in an email to us.
- Communications records if you write to us on email, Instagram, or Facebook.
We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers, payment card data, precise geolocation, or special-category data (health, biometrics, race, religion, or similar). Do not send that information to us.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to enquiries and discuss a custom collar or leash.
- Make, confirm, and support an order once you decide to purchase.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website and configurator.
- Measure site performance and understand which designs people like, where analytics tools are enabled.
- Comply with law, prevent fraud, and protect our rights.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar laws)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract or steps prior to a contract, when you ask us to quote, design, or make a product.
- Legitimate interests, such as running a secure website, answering messages, and keeping basic business records, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent, where required for non-essential cookies, marketing emails, or optional analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation, when we must keep records or respond to a lawful request.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The site needs certain technical storage to function (for example, saving a favorite design in your browser). We may also use analytics or advertising pixels (such as Google Analytics, Meta, TikTok, or similar tools) if they are switched on for a campaign. Those tools may set cookies or collect device identifiers.
Where ePrivacy / PECR or GDPR requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will only use those cookies after you accept them. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.
We do not currently run a paid advertising “sale” of personal information as that term is commonly understood. If we use advertising pixels that California treats as a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, you may opt out by emailing us and by using Global Privacy Control (GPC) or industry opt-out tools where available.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who host the site, deliver email, provide analytics, or help us make and ship products, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Professional advisers, insurers, or authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- A buyer of our business, if we ever transfer assets, subject to this Policy or equivalent protection.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not allow service providers to use your enquiry data for their own marketing.
7. International transfers
We and some of our providers (including website hosting) may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States and other jurisdictions. Where GDPR/UK GDPR requires it, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or an adequacy decision.
8. How long we keep information
Enquiry emails and design details are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically up to 24 months, or longer if needed for an order, dispute, tax, or legal requirement). Server logs are kept for a short period for security. Favorites stored in your browser remain until you clear them. We delete or anonymize information when we no longer need it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (HTTPS, access limits, reputable hosting) to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a trusted email account when you contact us.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to withdraw consent; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example, your EU data protection authority or the UK ICO).
If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected, delete it, correct it, opt out of sale or sharing, and not be discriminated against for exercising CCPA rights. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a separate CCPA limit-use right.
To exercise any of these rights, email everything.rooiee@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows, subject to proof of authorization.
11. Children
The site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or under 13 where COPPA applies). If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links
Instagram, Facebook, and other linked sites have their own privacy practices. This Policy does not cover those services.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where the law requires consent.
